The mileage will be recorded to avoid rewinding of the odometer. Besides SHAKEN, dealers offer 1st month, 6th month and 3rd year inspections, plus further inspections every 2 years on new cars. Used cars are inspected every time there is a new owner. As a result of these inspections, used cars in Japan are in great condition.
